What is SIL?

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS disability support service that enables participants disabilities to live independently in their own homes or in shared accommodation, while receiving varying levels of support to help them with daily tasks and activities. This support may include assistance with cooking, cleaning, personal care, transportation, and managing finances, among other things. SIL aims to empower people with disabilities by providing them with the necessary assistance to lead more independent lives while still enjoying the benefits of living in a household with plenty of support.

What is SDA?

Supported Disability Accommodation (SDA) is housing specifically designed and equipped to support people with disability. It offers a supportive living environment with features and modifications that enhance accessibility and safety. The goal is to empower residents to live as independently as possible, while receiving support to enhance their quality of life.

Soteria’s Darley home is a Robust SDA home. It’s designed for people with high and complex support needs, particularly those who may exhibit challenging behaviours or require extra security measures. Our home has features that make them sturdy and durable, capable of withstanding more substantial wear and tear, and enhanced security features. The aim is to create a safe and supportive living environment, while also ensuring the wellbeing of other residents and staff in the home.
