Juan is a middle aged man that had been living in a series of boarding houses and motels since the death of his father. His overall quality of life began to deteriorate; whilst he is very social and loves to get out and about each day in the community, he has impaired decision-making abilities, poor personal care, difficulties in meal preparation and other tasks required to manage a household.

Juan was able to secure a placement in supported independent living with Soteria. Since moving in he has had the opportunity to find a safe home and somewhere permanent to live. Juan has been supported to manage his money, learn to eat and cook healthy meals, maintain his home doing daily chores such as washing clothes, making meals and cleaning his room.
